Owen McNear

Owen, a senior at Greenbrier High School, is not only an accomplished student but also an exceptional athlete. As an AP Scholar with Distinction, Owen has excelled academically. On the sports front, Owen has been a pivotal member of the varsity swim team for four years and boasts an impressive decade-long journey with ASL, where he has participated in multiple U.S. Paralympic National swim meets and Paralympic World Series swim meets. His remarkable achievements include clinching three national gold medals in the 200 Backstroke, 200 Butterfly, and the mile. Owen's ultimate aspiration in swimming is to achieve a gold medal at the Paralympics.

Beyond the pool, Owen's interests are as diverse as his talents. He channels his passion for music through guitar playing and enjoys the camaraderie of basketball. In addition to his own pursuits, Owen is a dedicated swim coach, generously sharing his expertise with his neighborhood team. This year marks Owen's inaugural participation in EC, and he is very excited for the opportunities and experiences that lie ahead.
